This design was conceived to meet a need for a small cruiser which would be home-buildable using modern methods and also to be attractive and, especially, sea worthy for serious cruising. The hull, in the Norse style, is very buoyant and 'floaty'. It is planked in ½ ' (12mm) plywood, using the same procedure as the smaller dinghies and skiffs, plus laminated frames.

The shallow draught hull, combined with the short-mast Gunter rig, is not only more transportable by road, but actually makes a safer and more comfortable vessel at sea in rough weather.
