Sub Headers - Deck
Main Headers
Anchor Bits
We don't sell anchors & chain as such, but offer a few accessories to beautify your foredeck. You will find stemhead fittings and anchor stowages in the custom fittings section - each boat is different!

Boathooks
Now I reckon most of these are bought by guilty crew members who have just dropped the last one over the side. If you are going to make a habit of it, I'd recommend you stop right here and go to a proper chandlery and get a floating aluminium pole thingy. You think the skipper would notice the difference? Oh well, better carry on here then.

Deck Fillers
The application of each type is explained later. As for keys for deck fillers, the ones with dimples in the top come with a key, the ones with a slot don't, but then the slot will normally accommodate the edge of a spanner(wrench) or similar. Or you could go to a proper chandlery and buy a "universal deck key". Actually while you are at it, buy two because you can never find the things when you need them.

Deck Ventilators
If your boat has a deck, the cabin needs proper ventilation. Apart from avoiding musty smells ( I'm not mentioning any particular person here), it will also do much to avoid rot in a wooden boat.

Decklights
It is hard to exaggerate the impact that a few prismatic decklights will have on the interior of a boat. Even on dull days they shine. Who needs electricity, when you have sunlight?

Eyebolts & eyeplates
If anyone can think of anything interesting to say about eyebolts, I'd be glad to hear it.

Fairleads
Chocks, I think, in US English. The ones we list in this section are for mooring lines etc. Fairleads for running rigging are listed in Sheet Leads. And as for how big they should be - about 2½% of the boat length is a start point.

Flagstaff Sockets
Or ensign staff sockets if you prefer.

Hatch Equipment
This is a selection of the various hinges, catches and locks for hatches, skylights and companionway doors

Stanchions and Rails
From the guardrails which keep you from falling over the side, to the fiddle rails restraining your cup of coffee.
